Architect of record Everett Fly and Ellen Hunt as architectural consultant designed the master plan for the Carver Academy, the heartfelt project funded by David Robinson, a former San Antonio Spurs player.

Located close to downtown, on a site with significance for its location adjacent to the Carver Cultural Center and for its historical buildings, the school plan incorporated the needs of a private school for the performing arts.  Studio spaces and lodging for visiting artists were incorporated into the plan which also included classrooms, a theatre and outdoor sports courts.  The character and feel of the neighborhood was respected while accommodating a lively school campus.
